Route Description: Backwards: Skied Y-couloir, ascended Railroad couloir. Data: Drove Pikes Peak toll road to road closure, 1.5 miles from the summit (about 13,500'). Hiked over scree to reach the summit (14,109'). Skied Y-couloir to near the Bottomless Pit (approx 12,150'), then ascended the Railroad couloir. By then, the road was open and Dan met us at the summit with the van. Total vert skied: 1950'. Total vert climbed: 2550'. Total time: 5 hours. Relevant Links: Brittany's Blog |
